Elizabeth Steeby

Dr. Elizbeth Steeby is an Associate Professor of English at the University of New Orleans, specializing in Southern literature, New Orleans regional literature, multiethnic American literature, and gender and sexuality studies. She is co-editing A People’s Guide to New Orleans with Lynnell Thomas. She has recently published articles on radical intimacy in the era of Jim Crow fascism, biopolitics, and disaster management of the 1927 Mississippi River flood, and the autobiographical narratives of political prisoners. She also co-coordinates a creative writing and literacy program for women incarcerated at the Orleans Parish Prison.
